about

A song about one of the most dangerous cities in the world, one that featured over 2000 drug killings in 2008. This song specifically addresses the phenomenon of the unsolved murders of well over 200 young women since 1995 around the city. Not a glorification of the violence, the song serves as a call for help.

This song served as our test case to see if we could write vocal songs and transition from an instrumental band. We recruited Kronow singer James Brennan to lend his vocals on three songs to help us find a permanent singer for the band (josh Purdy). Juarez is one of those early songs.
